The Avro Canada CF-105 delta-wing all-weather interceptor which first flew on March 25, 1958 had the potential to enter service as one of the most advanced interceptors in the world, but was cancelled in 1959. Escalating costs and an offer by the US government to equip three RCAF air defence squadrons with the F-101B Voodoo brought about its demise.
