The first prototype of Lockheed's F-104 Starfighter flew February 7, 1954 and delveries to the USAF Air Defense Command began January, 1958. As a result of its lack of all-weather capability, the F-104A saw only limited service with the Air Defense Command, equipping just two fighter squadrons.
