One of the most famous jet fighters of all time, and certainly one of the most outstanding combat aircraft of the postwar years, the MiG-15 was designed by a Russo-German team headed by Artem I. Mikoyan and Mikhail I. Gurovich. Ths MiG-15 flew for the first time on December 30, 1947. During the Korean War, the MiG-15 fought the US F-86 Sabre in history's first jet-versus-jet air battles. Although the MiG-15 had faults, it was an excellent fighter.
